i have a friend, very far away, she suffered for being herself, it was unfair, and i love her so
she is wonderful, brilliant, and trying to make it every day, she shines like a diamond, a star in the sky
i have another friend, also far away, she suffered tyranny from outside, it was unfair, and i love her so
she is beautiful, a poet, carrying her scars with her every day, she shines like a diamond, the morning sun at the horizon
i have friends all over, each dealing with scars that none can see, it’s unfair, but i love them so
they fight, they scrape, they survive through the strength of will few can muster, they shine like diamonds, all in their own way
i see you down under, on sandy shores, under rainy skies across the ocean, in the frozen north, under the burning desert skies
in cities, in seclusion, all across this globe, you inspire me, allow me to stare down my own demons, all with teary eyes and a smile
thank you for sharing yourselves with a fool in the heart of texas, for seeing my scars and sharing your own, you are beautiful in every way
Wow!

thank you. it never hurts to remind those you love that they are beautiful. never know when they might need to hear it.

That was beautiful. In your misery, it helps having people around who get you. Even if separated by a device screen of one sort or another. 🤘👽

Mike. This is sooooo very wonderful! I love this. I think I will write my own tribute poem that I will keep in my notes and refer back to. You inspire me. You are creative and real. I like that.
