Serrated, words

if i were a knife i would have a serrated blade, with many sharp edges and a jagged scarred face

my words are the razor, the stiletto, by i am far to clumsy to cut smoothly

no, i am more of a saw tooth blade, it takes more effort and never leaves as even a mark

not made for slashing or hacking, not pretty enough to be tucked away in a bodice or garter

not as many as a machete or broad sword, nor as graceful as a katana

unable to slice a silk scarf in air

more of a bludgeoning tool

it takes more effort to properly wield a serrated blade, time and practice

in an era of box cutters and multi blade implements, i am the castaway relic of barbarism long past

so when i am looked over for the damascus steel, or carbon edged cutlery i understand

no one wants a messy knife that requires too much effort to use, they want ease of slice and clean up

that is not me
