i cannot get
warm
on the verge
of frozen tears
shaking
in anger

they knew
this would happen
and yet
they did
nothing

rather than
spend
on improving
the infrastructure

they left us
to freeze

how do you
forgive
such negligence
how do you
forget
the silence

there will be
a new crisis
manufactured
to divert eyes
a celebrity scandal
or something
equally vapid

and the only ones
who will pay
will be the ones
that suffered

just like always.
