clusters and migraines
at a rate where
the briefest seconds of
relief are fool’s gold
a promise unfulfilled
stressing myself out
through clenched teeth
and anxious melodies
my heart beat taps out
an ever increasing
sequence of gasping
manic hissing as the
steam is released in
bloody couplets
unleashing a spray
of inchoate insolence
a fluctuating series of
muddied misunderstandings
painting with sunlight
on a canvas of over
stretched truths until
comprehension becomes
another pathetic excuse
to give in to the
crushing realization
there is a permanence
in lockjaw moments of
pulsing quasars and
bottomless wells of pain
