a reckless chain
of water vapor
carbon dioxide
melted wax
less than
the component of
the candle itself
slowly destroying
its own form
for dire

my adoration carries the rapture of a thousand suns
molten
at the core
the coal fire stokes
the steam powered heart
in a reactive embrace
yet i remain hollow as a candle flame
flickering tongue of fire
incandescent yet ultimately
