the gray pisses
a slushy consistency
over a sluggish city
lurching through
the motions

crystalline showers
a confusion in
half frozen particulates
sirens howl eerily
as the sparrows
huddle silently
a fool murmurs
chattering refrains
in collusion with
the swirling mist

i listen without any
closed captions to
the clattering crystals
holding us captive
as we are shaken madly
in a filthy snow globe
frozen capsules rattle
as nature paddles the
frosty posterior of
a texas shaped pinata
