rancorous regret
take your bitter seed and plant it in your bosom
you radiate remorse
yet no one seems to take the time to stop and see if they can help
as you waste away
the cancer of loss multiplying in your worried mind
fading from sight
as if a cataract has fallen over the moon and the tides have lost their way
the eastern seaboard has gone away
eroded back into the waters like lemuria
just the tips of buildings marking the way to what was once but now is not and never will again
as lady liberty suffocates
toxicity in her red white and blue veins
carbon builds up and forms into scales
a lizard queen of wasted ways
purple mounds of morbid obesity
above the genetically modified plains
the rivers flow sweet with corn syrups flows
spilling into everything
the bitter seed takes root and blossoms into despair
