i’ve noticed
when
the words fall out
in the novel
the poetry
seems more concise

i guess i still vomit all over the page

but
my verbosity
my natural tendency
seems sharper
those days

maybe
i am just sick
of reading myself

too much time
in my own
head
seems
unhealthy

but being in someone else’s
may be
even worse

and a lot bloodier
