let’s go out
into the country
and lay on the hood of the car
we can count the stars
until we find one
that shines as brightly as you
my love

we can drive down to the beach
and watch the waves
as the sun
glimmers off of them
like diamonds
i will make up a story for you
for every shell we find

let’s go out
and hike the trails
i will pick wildflowers
and make you a wreath
to wear in your hair
we can laugh
as they sit in envy
as they straddle
true natural beauty
