i was going through
the computer
searching for something
when i stumbled
upon
something else

a folder
entitled

to mike

it struck me
as odd
that a folder would be
presented
as a gift
since said computer
is mine
already

not that it is much use
as anything
but a seed box
for ill gotten
gains

the properties said
it was made
on the same day
i came home
to find
she was no longer
living with me

it’s odd
the date stands out
still
when i cannot recall
her scent
or taste

just a jumble
of confusing emotions
from chemicals
that had faded
long before
the date in question

i didn’t open it

most likely
never
will

but it sits
in my head
that the computer
is haunted
perhaps
her ghost
lives there quietly
waiting
for the day
it is allowed to escape
