has a way of giving
certain individuals
a sense of importance
or superiority
they do not deserve
by feeding egos
unleashing the monsters
they always were
the difference being
now they have
a platform for
their audacious fuckery
whereas before they were
forced to act human

if the people
you surround yourself with
never question you
when your actions
become self serving
with no regard
to the fact these pawns
you maneuver are
actually real people
they are enablers
too afraid of being
exposed themselves

daily this
disappointment grows
as i position myself
farther and further
from any source
of light
knowing some hunters
use bioluminescence
to lure prey
