one of my many

faults is easily
idealizing things
letting my brain
color outside of
the lines even as
i see the truth

the only time i
am truly amazed
is at the abject
cruelty humans display
as confidently as
a peacock strutting

this says more of me
the apathetic fool
yawning as the minecart
speeds recklessly into
the darkest pits marring
the faces they believe
remain hidden behind
diaphanous disguises
always smiling as long
as noone questions a thing
