of this accidental
existence needn’t
be searched for
because frankly
there is none
to be found
all we can do
is not be assholes
for as long as
we are stuck here
all while expecting
there is nothing
to be found beyond

if you’re only
being a good person
in hopes of a reward
after your death
you missed the
entire fucking point
and if there is
an invisible watcher
weighing every one
of your earthly actions
wouldn’t they see
right through the act

i find belief to be
beautifully absurd
wishing i had the
faith in a higher being
instilling order in
the rampant chaos
but relying on this
same higher power
rather than actively
trying to make this
world a better place
shows a distinct lack
of faith in yourself
or disregard for
your imaginary friend
