i drove
into a supernova
the darkness
eradicated by
a pale shade of
canteloupe flesh
slowly illuminating
the inside of this
robin’s egg in
which the world
is safely ensconced
shattering illusions
of an ever expanding
infinity just beyond
the straining set
of van allen belts
desperately in need
of having an extra
hole or two punched
to relieve the self
manufactured pressures
slowly imploding
dream into motes of
carcinogenic dismay
meteor showers in
the long mourning
leaving distorted odes
to incalculable forevers
i dreamt of you
and as the alarm rang
i tore out my heart
and left it as a
doorstop to try and
find you once again
now a nap feels like
an expedition into
the fevered maw of
lovingly crafted
disappointments
“meteor showers in
the long mourning
leaving distorted odes
to incalculable forevers” great lines!
