it is hard
not to become
dejected by
all the rejection
to not feel
defective in
lack of retention
when hydrogen bonds
go up in flames

it doesn’t take
a detective
to see from my
skewed perspective
each time another
prospective avoids
my detection in
all the times
left in the dark

if i am not being
used by someone
i am clearly of
no use to anyone at all
