hard lessons from the asylum

i work
with this guy
who is always
unhappy about
mostly
everyfuckingthing

he is decent
enough of a tech
but in private
all he does
istrytoagitate

he calls
slowly working
himselfrabid
pointing out
everyone else’s
shortcomings
tryingtoprovoke
a reaction from
whoever answers

and it worked
for a while at least
until he got too
comfortable in
his self-righteousness
and his game became
completely obvious

he tried to play
everysidepossible
and when confronted
backpedaled faster
than a crawfish
from the boiling pot
never once taking
his rightful share
oftheblamehepassed

he was the only
one who could be
rightjustinscrutable
and would try to
turn everyone else
upon any who dared
question his opinion

the thing with people
whothriveonthemisfortune
of others is they are
never satisfied enough
to maintain the peace
when the only thing
they manufacture is
cancerous fractures

once i saw through him
i stopped answering
when his name popped up
and so did all of the
other local techs
because all negativity
seems to attract is
even more bad vibes

life is hard enough
being an asshole
for no reason seems
like a waste of those
preciousfleetingmoments
