autumn has
fallen
yet summer
refuses to
unclench her
claws
the leaves
long withered
incapable of
the vibrancy
in decay
and i feel
much the same
a wizened fruit
desperately
clinging to
the apathetic
branch
knowing the
fall
will do far
more than
leave a bruise
swaying on
the fetid breeze
carrying diesel
fumes like notes
of perfume
just need
everything to
stop being
everything all
the fucking
time
autumn falls
into summer’s shadow
a folly of
failing parts
