glinting angrily
in the morning light
an expanse of fields
painted brown and yellow
cash crops gone worthless
as a senile poor man’s
version of putin pouts

he rigged a war
to continue for months
so he could claim
credit for peace
as he chased after
a shiny new medal
openly campaigning
thinking he found
a way to cheat
yet another system

touting empty victories
while the fate of a nation
hangs on his failing
grasp of reality
doing everything he can
to keep the eyes off of
the epstein list by
any drastic means possible
believing everyone is as
stupid as he is and will
buy his latest toxic grift

i have been feeling
the repercussions of
his desperate actions
as it gets harder to
stretch paycheck to
paycheck when grocery
prices and bills soar
because that is how
tarrifs actually work
but what is devastating
to us at the bottom end
hasn’t trickled to the top
the same way the tax cuts
haven’t ever helped the poor

we should adopt the
volunteer firefighter
method for firing
squads to save the
government money by
lawfully enacting the
punishment for traitors
take a page from the
conmen and women who
are raping the constitution
and set up pay per views
so we can find the start
to a better tomorrow
