was doing some shopping

a chore i despise

when this mother comes around the corner in a fury

she is telling her daughter if she keeps it up she’ll break her arm

and in the old days

there was a chance she’d have to get it removed

i hid a smile

the little girl said

nuh uh

the mother seemed at wits end

i dropped to a knee and looked her in the eye

told her it was true

it happened to my cousin

he had to tie all his left sleeves into a knot

her eyes grew big as saucers as she stared

nuh uh

i told her it was true and i would never lie to such a beautiful lady such as her

she gave her mom a big hug and told her about my cousin

the mom held her close and mouthed thank you to me and i made my escape before the laughter came trickling out

this cute lady came up to me

i was unaware she heard me

we ended up walking and chatting

shopping fell a couple points on my least favorite thing to do

or maybe it’s the clean shave i have after two and half weeks of using an electric razor

i don’t question it

sometimes it’s the little things

that make the big ones less terrible
