on dry land
plummet to the earth
from underground

soar with your feet
remaining grounded
run while paralyzed
with inner turmoil

anxiety tells me
everything is wrong
depression tells me
it is all bad

yet i cock my head
towards the sun
set one foot
in front of the other

it hasn’t beaten me yet
despite it’s best efforts
though some days
giving in sounds delightful
