a return to normal
meth addicted crocs
the mysterious florida man
lighting trailer parks
on fire
attempted assault
in a unicorn onesie
while running naked
from the police
drunk and disorderly
the order
of the day
it takes a
hurricane hysteria hiatus
to remind you
of the insanity inherent
in peninsular life
storm doors
lizard armies
taking refuge
in humid garages
white sands
under brooding skies
that threaten
to rain down terror
but sputter to a halt
meandering
across the ocean
dispersed in malaise
it takes a
hurricane hysteria hiatus
to remind you
of the insanity inherent
in peninsular life
a cupboard
full of water
the souvenir
of another empty threat
haven’t seen outside
for days
the shutters shutter
the weather alerts
of constant dismay
the sky is falling falling falling
course correction
resume your day
“course correction resume your day” stand down…..remember standing up to my thighs in water in the warehouse district of New Orleans in the 70’s, my first hurricane warning (being from the Pacific Northwest) we are such interesting creatures hysteria to boredom in 60 seconds. Life on planet earth…..made me smile:)

My friends were expecting the worst from Dorian and ended up like a groom with a runaway bride. I can’t imagine the fear then let down.
