art as a means to self destruction

hollow bones, hollow bones
the waves consume the shore
hollow bones hollow bones
the dead dream no more

scattered soul shattered soul
pieces of crystalized hope
scattered soul shattered soul
swaying from a lovespun rope

there are only so many ways you can rationalize away the anguish that pounds at your brain like an angry debt collector

using your one free call to hear her voice as it goes to voicemail the same as every time you drunk dialed at two a.m.

fading falling flailing failing fighting fucking fleeing freeing one last high five as the waters swallow the wan light

all you see is a blur when your reflection reflects a fractured fraction of who you once thought you would have become

hollow bones, hollow bones
the waves consume the shore
hollow bones hollow bones
the dead dream no more

scattered soul shattered soul
pieces of crystalized hope
scattered soul shattered soul
swaying from a lovespun rope

how many miles markers have you passed on that lone road to six feet under without stopping to enjoy the scenic views

the dull hum muffles every other sound but somehow that anxiety comes through inner ear disinterest crystal clear

wiser men offed themselves before they grew incapable of sustaining the lies that kept the masses lining up to sell their souls

and you have the gall to believe you can trick someone else into giving you one more last chance in a series of longshot lunacy

hollow bones, hollow bones
the waves consume the shore
hollow bones hollow bones
the dead dream no more

scattered soul shattered soul
pieces of crystalized hope
scattered soul shattered soul
swaying from a lovespun rope
