implosion

falling in love
is a
controlled
detonation
an implosion
falling in
on one’s self
a pile of rubble
left
in the hope
this new vista
is one
your chosen lover
finds suitable
a new garden
to plant the seeds
of singular
experiences
watching what
sprouts
from the new
fertile land
the two
together
have grown
into a spectacular
paradise.

some plants
thrive
in the sun
some under
starry skies
but as long
as it is
tended
with the same
care
in which it
was planted
it should
flourish
from the
direct contact
of two hearts
beating as one.

falling in love
is a
controlled
detonation
an implosion
tearing down
the walls
hastily built
to protect
the softer parts
in an effort
to let the sun
eradicate
the shadows
of the past
while caring for
the new bud
connecting
her heart
to mine
as the roots
spread deep
downdowndown
into nervous
systems of
systemic neglect.

to you my love
i don’t just
give my
steam powered heart
but the detonator
to pull down
who i was
before you
made me
whole again
a garden of
beauty grown
out of the
formerly salted soil
of past pains
perfection pollenated
by your
infectious smile
the wildflowers
of our love
grow untamed
over soulscatter
fields
of verdant destruction.
