it isn’t that

it isn’t that
i cant get out
of my own head
it’s that the part
i got stuck in
was one i swore
that i would avoid
now it is all
that pummels me
in the silence
that punctures
my inner ear
an unloving embrace
squeezing too tight
to my throat
