jack’s blade

i put the
manic
in
hopeless
romantic
smearing
my inept
heart all over
the aether
a ten cent poet
with a
talented tongue
and the biggest
vocabulary
you’ve ever
been bored
to death by
wanting to be
a neruda
but born
with a face
like hank
and the talent
of a hack
hallmark dropout
maniacal in
shades of
bipolar
open hearted
idiocy
on a one way
trip straight
to the heaven
hidden
between your
shapely thighs
the manic
romantic
plucking the
heartstrings
of a
demonic
tabernacle
an inabilty
to stop your
legs twitching
as you try
to walk
the only sign
i was ever
even there
cutting through
your dreams
kerouac’s
switchblade
tucked into
sylvia’s
garter belt
a trail of
crimson in
the moonlight
as i hop
a train to
the next
small town
looking for
a warm fire
and a friend
to share the
lonely road
