a rare cool morning
the sins of the sun
break lazily through
the steel gray skies
above sleepy cleburne
the only lost souls
line up for a hint
of caffeinated warmth
as a fool roams about
a head full of poetry
leaking out in threads
to entangle errant rays
in crystalline sepulchres
with irradiated blossoms
sprouting from the
cracks in the sidewalks
wverywhere i drift
a pollenated promise of
better days ahead as
summer’s last kiss
dissipates in the
hint of rain lingering
over blurred horizons
