i own four
different umbrellas
yet i am soaked
in the rain
with no good
explanation
except for
rampant stupidity
the year has
announced itself
in a bevy of
storm and silences
as a fool sits
shivering
waiting for a lull
in the downpour
thinking about
the umbrellas
leaning next to
the front door
at least i wore
my waterproof vans
a small consolation
to the rest of
my quite drenched
everything else
