and i am back in texas
a week of georgia peaches and in depth classes pertaining to the last thing i care to learn
a week of hotel living and strangers that became a family of misfits
a week of new friends, of jay the instructor barely able to contain his laughter as i disrupt class for the fiftieth time, of kain the long lost musical brother that likes all the same music
a week of calling poor tony, toby or terrence or troy
i have had worse weeks
and i am back in texas
still too far from you
still too many unkept promises
still too many words unwritten
a week of new ideas, of odd inspiration, of yellow pollen so thick the black car had a greenish cast
of a flight to atlanta where i made a new friend
of a flight back where i entertained the flight
i sat and listened to the ramones with a witch, poured my poor heart onto the canvas, learned of peaches and car audits
and i am back in texas
where does it go from here, i wonder
i may be back in texas
but we both know, i am really there, with you
as always
If at some point you want a prompt… I’d love for you to write something called
