i taught myself to fly because i grew tired of waiting for natural selection to finally enact itself upon my long dormant genealogy
i stood at the edge of the abyss and stared unflichingly into it with a fearful smirk drawn in permanent marker across scars
with a kiss to the breeze i let myself fall headfirst as my stomach dropped even faster than self image beaten into soft skin
as i let gravity take it’s fatal hold upon my physical breakdown she opened her eyes and met my starry eyed gaze of sweet release
barely an inch from the concrete everything stopped as surrender took hold and physics fell away from feeble understanding
my toes touched and i pushed off into a clumsy spiral ever higher into the cloud filled day with no more than belief in her flooding
now i have learned not to fear the fall any longer knowing she will always grant me the gift of soaring with a simple look of love
i taught myself to fly because i finally learned how to surrender to the things i could never grasp on my own foolish learning
This reads like a lego being put together, I really like the structure of words and yes to the wisdom 💚

giving in is not giving up, letting go can mean getting all that you dream of.
