hall of mirrors

the constant pounding
the ringing
the chorus
of demons
singing
screaming
dreaming
this illusionary sense
of peace
of pieces
of shattered mirror
inserted
just inside
my cornea
to reflect
the misdeeds
of missing deeds
to lands
of milk
and honeyed lies
her thighs
her eyes
the flies
so thick
on the unconcealed
blood
spread across
the floor
the walls
the spray arcing
ever higher
to touch the sky
of placid lies
of malevolent
good byes
chewing aspirin
aspiring
to dull the pain
against the grain
insane
unable to hear
the refrain
of gasping
breath
death
behold
the milky white steed
encrusted
with writhing
maggots
i awake
to fight
against the dream
of constant waking
into
another nightmare
endless
a hall of mirrors
beginning
with the sliver
inserted
into my eye
