falsified
a war on drugs
while taking
the news
out of reporting
now
we need not
question
what is
real or false
in every facet of
our stream

how dare they
point out the lies
how dare they
correct the ones
that deem themselves
above
petty inconvenience
such as honesty

truth and justice
are no longer
the american way
the snake bites
its own tail
while bemoaning
the fact
it is being bitten
never once
acknowledging
the damage was done
by it’s own jaw

and why should it

it gnaws at itself
in front
of the world
while hissing the blame
on others
still
they cheer it on
for the serpent
has been known
to only speak
