lost in the waves

the summer began with stale heat that cast an overbearing despair across the land

but as the days grow shorter the scent of wildflowers grew while the pomegranates ripen

blood red juice soaks through the gossamer wrapped neatly around her supple form

her skin stained with the sun’s embrace i long to lick the sticky sweetness away

her spine a cobblestone path my fingers dance upon as her pulse quickens in time

the mossy stones of her hip bones vigilantly watch the glimmering sea of her desire

the last of summer’s caress breathes a cloud of pollen to coat my every thought

lost in the waves of glittering diamonds, and in the drops of sweat along her skin
