i see her wonder and weep

just beneath
the shimmering surface
shines a soft pink
as the scent of
wildflowers carries
heavy on the frozen

she is a cluster
of peonies interlaced
with wrought iron
stronger in her supple
delicacy than the
diamonds her smile
far outshines

even now she laughs
dismissively at my not
far fetched claims
as my heart thunders
her name in every spasming
beat of longing
to rest in her divinity

in that soft pink blush
of wildflowers
beautifully glimmering
i see her soul shining
and it dawns on me
how perfect, truly perfect
love does feel
