down towards the horizon
leaving the spectrum
bathed in an
incomprehensible sadness
as the light splits
the gray thunderhead
errant rays of sun
stab at the cityscape
as it settles in a fugue
of dismally decadent dismay
while the banded frown
stretches cold fingers
in a dementia of
false hopes and colorful lies
