switchblades

i
am a
teddy bear
wrapped
in shards
of broken
dreams

she
is a
razor blade
hidden in a
bouquet
of freshly
picked wildflowers

our tongues
are switchblades
tucked behind
smiling lips

our hearts
are sparrows
anxious withing
wicker cages

she fills
my cracked soul
with peony petals
as she gently weaves
gossamer light
to pull me
back into shape

i am
a mirrored moon
desperate to
show her a fraction
of the beauty
she so effortlessly
exudes

to say
i love her
understates
the depth
of emotion
confining infinity
in a way
the human mind
can fathom
trying to
define something
indefinable
by words alone

she
is a
blossom of
unimaginable
wonder

i
am the
drop of crimson
on a
hidden thorn

together
we are something
more
