crystalline catastrophe

all out of
second chances
broken dreams
and a book
of matches
watching as
the flames
consume the room
a long night of
hushed aches
sleeplessly
riding the waves
shuddering quakes
falling apart
in lonesome apathy
a breadcrumb trail
of crystal tears
amid the briars
as the birdsong
drowns out the
plaintive whispers
of love in a
cutting silence
built for two
a tempest of
glowing embers
seeking solidity
in the fog
stretching shadows
into obscurity
where hope is
tinder spreading
tongues of fire
in suffocated
synchronicity
ashen footprints
erratically
pacing throughout
blackened cathedrals
and heartspires
in crystalline
catastrophe
