an eruption
of pink and purple
wavering out
from a malignant
orange orb as
lightning dances
on the angry bed
of gray around it
highlighting the
sickness seething
in concrete and glass
the first day
where summer feels
it’s fallen
the northern wind
howling through
a confusion of leaves
still green since
the false equinox
another parking garage
another morning wasted
watching the world
without causing ripples
as i wait for a storm
i have no more faith
will ever truly arrive
as the cadavers of
lost lovers lay lonely
in the thirsty gutters
