pioneering dissent
a pedantic pissant
calling out those who
grip tight to power
having lost sight of
their own motivations
in the face of money
trampling on the rights
they swore to defend
treating the constitution
like dollar store one ply
while a nation starves
as the cost of existence
becomes a choke point

i just want to watch
the sparrows darting
fall into daydream
where things worked out
without the incessant
intolerable weight of
inexplicable knowledge
crushing my spirit more

too conscious to ever
truly be happy in
a world of golden lies
