they never should have been allowed up there
the two of them
cheek to cheek
slow dancing to the music in their hearts on top of the zepplin
the sounds of bombs falling
guns firing
explosions and distant cries of pain
but none of it mattered as they gazed into each other’s eyes
the starlight twinkling
the burning villages beneath them casting mood light
they were above it all
in love
intoxicated on just being together
a four count waltz
one two three
four
one two three
four
he pivoted, planted his hip and dipped her
she lets out a squeal of delight as the world spins
the air is cold this high up but there cheeks are flush
they move in perfect time
one two three
four
one two three
four
he was never a dancer but with her it just feels so natural
like he was born to dance with her
to hold her close and move as one
and in that instant two become one
the world ceases to exist
her blonde hair blows in the wind behind her and her eyes sparkle with joy
his eyes see nothing but her
her scent fill his nose and takes him to a sense of home
one two three
four
one two three four
it is just them
frozen in time
