a quick job

she smiled at me and kissed me hard on the lips, i wanted more but she pushed me back and laughed, a promise of more

after

she pulled her back into a pony tail and winked at me, that mischievous smile that made me fall in love with her in the first place

then we both slipped on our ski masks and checked to see if there was a round chambered before getting out of the car

i’ll be damned if she doesn’t look amazing in those jeans with the pistol tucked into the back

and she is a magician when it comes to hot wiring a car in the middle of a parking lot at noon

she’s perfect, fits me like that ski mask fits her beautiful face, like those jeans fit her perfect little

before i can finish the thought her boot is kicking the door and i’m in action screaming for everyone to hit the floor

the silent alarm is tripped the second i showed my weapon, we timed it, two and a half minutes until the police show

i sprint to the counter and it only takes slight coaxing to get the tellers to fill the bags

the money is insured, they are trained to do it without a struggle

she has the manager is politely jamming the gun into his kidney and walking to the safety deposit boxes

one forty baby

she prods him harder at my shout

i follow, rechecking the numbers i wrote in white out on my glove even though it was burnt into my brain

we entered the room and i pointed him to the five boxes we were there for

he pulled them and set them on the table and i swept the cash and jewels into the final bags

thirty more

we gathered the bags and that led the tellers and manager for the help

she grabbed a handful of suckers off the counter and we were in the car and slowly making our way into traffic as the sirens howled and tires screeched behind us

three parking lots and new cars later and we were out of town and on our way to the next town

screaming down the highway, my hand on her thigh and the stereo turned up loud, her hair whipping in the wind and a smile on her face

she sings along to the song and i have one eye on her and one on the road

the future is wide open and as long as she is by my side, i’m happy
