happily (n)ever afters

i
like
fairy tales
because
against all facts
to the
contrary
in
the real world

they have happy endings

evil
is
vanquished

true love
prevails

everyone
lives
happily
ever after

life
is
nothing
like that
though

evil
tends
to triumph

the
valiant
knight
gets cancer

the princess
tends
to run away
with
the bad guy
after all

wolves
win

best intentions
equal
a loss

been
waiting on
my
happily ever after
so long
i
didn’t realize
i was
in
my final chapters
hope
was
as dead
as
the good witch

  1. Really? Have you noticed that I don’t like things that are negative or give off that hopeless vibe? I’m not going to encourage that behavior and just like the soup Nazi, no like for you!

Aren’t you a writer? Don’t you create these stories? Aren’t you the architect? Aren’t you the god? So why write stuff like this???

If I read a book where the MC just gave up and let life steam roll over him or was like, “I would go save the princess but that castle has a mote around it.”
    “All castles have a mote.”
    “I know, but still.”
Or “I would go out and conquer the land but I just got new chainmail and I don’t want to get it dirty.”

Where is the give ’em hell attitude? Where is the never die spirit? Life doesn’t give you what you deserve but what you think you deserve. The hard times are meant to test you and build your character. You are the author of your own story so are you really going to write that?!

Nope, that won’t work, mark it out and try again. Be more like.

He woke in the morning strong and determined. He rolled out of bed and those who meant to do him harm knew to scatter.

He wasn’t afraid of anyone, let alone a challenge. He knew what he wanted and he didn’t stop till he got it.

He dreamed big. He lived big, and even though his heart was huge his ego was small.

He added value into the world because he saw the value in himself.

He knew that obstacles only stop those who didn’t really want it but he couldn’t be deterred and he didn’t just try, he succeeded.

He dreamed big and achieved everything he set out to do and in the end he looked back and realized that moment of sadness didn’t break him, but it made him. It built his character and he became the stuff of legends.

    The fucking end.
