(un)titled ode XI

life is a cycle
not
always
a good one

seems
finding something
equates
to
losing something
else

sometimes
what we find
is
much better
than
what we lose

sometimes
the inverse
is
true

when
i stood
at the cusp
of
losing everything
i
found you

this
is a case
of
it all being worth it

and
now
as it all
crumbles
knowing
you
exist
makes it
not seem
quite so bad
at all

i know
i will never
mean
the same to you
as
you do
to me

i just don’t care

he stood at the edge of oblivion, the whirling vortex of everything and nothing coalescing in front of awestruck eyes, a void that wasn’t a void at all, an emptiness filled with tendrils of everything, paradox given shapeless form, formless shape, and in that a face swirled in tantalizing glimmers, reflected in his eyes and the smile that sat crookedly on his face, it was with this sense of fulfillment rushing through his quivering limbs, he knew his purpose, it sent shivers of delight through his every nerve, and as her face danced at the edge of his vision, straying through vastness of creation, he found peace and comfort, the edge of oblivion never seemed so inviting as it did at that singular time and space
