(un)titled longing

(did you know
how closely behind
i followed
your scent
in my nostrils
my heartbeat
in my skull
the random nature
of chaotic order
pulsing
like fireflies
in the night)

unfurl
the bloody rags
of yesterday
in which to sully
the mist
of disinterest

(it was dark
in the city
you turned
with no blinker
down another alley
of vice filled yearning
i sat
watching
as you plied
your wares
to the unwashed masses
in futility
like a whore
with open sores)
