across the waves
now she swims out
unable to differentiate
all the sunken
lovers in the silt

only to be
carelessly pitched
into the brine
as her alligator tears
churn around her
a desperation for
what was thrown aside
the distorted reflections
of what she had
in the clouded sea
where loss is obscured
by false contrition
worn smooth by
the endless flowing
