pretending to work
as the long weekend
beckons sullenly from
the commerce beckoning
to fleece the masses

a false narrative leads
into a frenzy of sales
to commemorate the birth
of a fictional character
while we ponder the true
meaning of the season in
axial tilted delusions
where divinity gave birth
to itself only to then
sacrifice itself to erase
a sin it put into place
as a measure of good faith
to lead the flock back to
the promised lands where
they fight for blood and oil
