you came into my world a savior, an angel offering grace, a divine blessing, erasing the stain of sin from my weary blackened soul
i was the fallen one, swinging like a pendulum between avarice and sorrow, you gave balance when it was needed most
and now you’re gone
a bittersweet memory, the faint smell of roses on the breeze
and i am growing weaker by the day
weaker by the day
i fell into your gravitational pull, my elliptical orbit dreaming me closer with every dizzying spin
no longer able to sustain life, you took me in
no longer able to see truth, you opened my eyes
but now you’re gone
and i am all alone
were you ever real or just another figment of my mind, an illusionary diversion of desperate hope in the final dwindling moments of time
are you there, can you hear my whispered cries, or is it another trick my failing sanity plays
i can smell you in the air, hear your laughter, feel your warmth in this frigid cold
i realize you are gone
i do
but it doesn’t stop the dreams does it
it doesn’t make you here, doesn’t make you any more real than the the smoke i exhale
my angel sent from the lord above, my vision, my everything
we both knew i could only cause your fall, couldn’t be your anything, but still you tried to raise me up at the cost of your wings
two fallen souls doomed to grow apart, but only one of us could let go
and you are no longer here
and i wait for you
knowing you will never return, greener pastures and better lies await
a better life awaits
back to soaring above mere mortals, spread your wings my love, and if you ever feel weak i am here
always here
patiently
as your feathers drift to the earth below, i gather them and await your return
This date was my wedding anniversary and the date my love died long after it fell apart. Now reading this poem, the sentiment of the lost of the love once tangible hit me like a joke God played on my life. You just never know how things you created touches a reader long after it’s been dusted of your ever-growing blog post. Thanks for creating mate!

odd coincidences seem less like coincidences some times
