the silence beats down
watching the ceiling again
at a loss for words
the sadness seems to be all
in a solo frame of mind
souljacker up loud
looking for answers to life
the question seem moot
but just once i’d like to hear
some reasonable reply
born and die alone
moving slowly between them
no rhyme or reason
just the inexplicable
desire for some sort of plan
so i turn it up
too loud for the quiet night

What a ‘feel good song’!! Mike, I live in the heart of a forest(where my soul belongs) this song will sound beautiful when I get home tomorrow, with all the windows open! I have not heard of the Eels before. Geez, I still have the dragon and pearl tale in my head. What a lasting impression. It could be a children’s tale, animation. One of your absolute best!
