hoarse

as the words rang, a clarion call of golden bells, over a field of wildflowers that span the land, from sea to sea, in every shade
of your lips, your tongue, your throat, your

sometimes the need to press against you, knowing i will want to bite your lip as my traitorous lungs demand oxygen even as i only need more of you, makes my pulse echo off of the walls until i don’t know where i begin and you end

i’ve grown hoarse
screaming your name
silently
with every
shuddering

breath

it isn’t really breathing without inhaling your scent, akin to eating cardboard knowing exactly what this mouth would rather

savage

i wear the chains of love and desire, proudly draped across my shoulders

i wear your words, a shimmering simmering cascade of silk

you can keep my heart in your pocket, it no longer beats

for me
