reasons

on each of my wrists
i have
my kids signatures
from when
they were six
tattooed
because
in this entire universe
they are
my reason

but
there is a secret

i could have
tattooed them anywhere
but i put them
on my wrists
because
i would never hurt them
so when the urge
to do something
rash
happens
when the world
gets too heavy
i place a kiss
upon them
instead of a knife
