i read dickinson
for the first time today
see
i don’t really like poetry
i don’t understand it
the hidden messages
the undercurrent
the metaphors
all beyond my feeble grasp
see
i am not looking
for the secrets of the universe
hidden
in prose
scribbled notes
on where it all went wrong
no
that is not for this foolish man
to seek
i am looking for the cure
i can barely string
two lines together
the only forever i see
is alone
the only answer i have
is that
i don’t know the right question
to ask
but i read dickinson
for the first time today
it made me thirsty
for bukowski flavored lies
Ivy Green in Chinese Translation, the first Dickinson piece I read when I was 8. I only comprehended it in my 20s though reading the English original.

I’ve read her before, it was just an image I liked for this. I do prefer Charles though. I think he is amazing.

Oh Charles pulled me through a fragile and loney childhood.
